One of the 20th century's most acclaimed sculptors, Louise Nevelson made massive wooden assemblages from timber, furniture fragments, and crates. Assemblage involves the transformation of non-art objects and found materials into sculpture by combining or construction techniques. For this Untitled work, Nevelson made an assemblage sculpture consisting of an enigmatic and sensuous black painted wood abstract form.
