Pat Lasch, Wedding Tower

Pat Lasch, a longtime resident of the Coachella Vallery, was inspired to create this sculpture by her father, who was a master pastry chef and taught her the tricks of the trade. Wedding Tower depicts frosting with paint and sprinkles with pins and pearls, while expressing the artist's interest in cakes as markers of life’s milestones. Lasch noted, “Cakes marked time. Birthdays, weddings, communions, bar mitzvahs — cakes were the witnesses to our living process."

Pat Lasch, residente del Valle de Coachella desde hace mucho tiempo, se inspiró para crear esta escultura de su padre, que era un maestro pastelero y le enseñó los trucos del oficio. Torre de bodas representa el glaseado con pintura y salpicaduras de alfileres y perlas, al tiempo que expresa el interés de la artista por los pasteles como marcadores de los hitos de la vida. Lasch señaló: "Los pasteles marcaban el tiempo. Cumpleaños, bodas, comuniones, bar mitzvahs: los pasteles fueron los testigos de nuestro proceso de vida ".
