Chakaia Booker, The Privilege of Eating

Chakaia Booker’s sculpture melds everyday objects including tires and a shovel into an abstract, mixed-media assemblage. By utilizing recycled rubber tires and other objects associated with labor, Booker’s artwork raises questions of work and worth. Titled The Privilege of Eating, the sculpture also evokes concerns around consumption and sustainability.
