Gerald Clarke, Monument Series: To the Previous Generation

This work pays tribute to Clarke’s father and his three aunts, with each family member represented by a drink container and their favorite beverage: Gerald Lloyd Clarke Sr. with a beer mug and Virginia (Ginger) Liera, Patricia (Patsy) Liera, and Prudence (Girlie) Ramos by different colored cups. These everyday containers are arranged on a checkered cloth elevated, literally and figuratively, on classical Greek columns that memorialize important figures in the making of public monuments.
