Gonzalo Lebrija, El Rumor de la Discordia
2017
This small sculpture consists of a bronze horse suspended in air, supported by only one hoof, touching its concrete pedestal. Many of Lebrija’s works explore the relationship between earth and sky in search for suggestions of transcendence in modern life. Lebrija plays with the image of the equestrian monument and frees the horse from its physicality and earthbound nature. The sculpture appears as a metaphysical event, a magical occurrence in everyday life.
