Bob Van Breda, 'PASSION'
2011
Bob Van Breda is known for his large-scale sculptures of everyday objects such as pencils. The artist noted: “For me, the pencil is a symbolic object, a metaphor of a past culture (we have abandoned this simple tool with our laptops and smart phones). I chose red, because it is a striking primary color and the color of most animated hearts. The name ‘PASSION’ is a word representing a strong emotion, desire, and inspiration.”
